Heck Senior has stolen all of Heck Junior's Secret Techniques and hidden them around the neighborhood to prevent him from playing epic pranks on everyone. this cannot stand!! go get the Techniques back or he'll be doomed to a life of un-epic mediocrity!!
this is a short and stupid Mega Man Maker mod for holly heckmaybe's Make Literally Anything Jam over at https://itch.io/jam/make-literally-anything-jam ! i had VERY little time to work on this so it's more of a tiny little teaser than anything. there WILL be bugs and oversights, so please be gentle, thank you.
UPDATE 4/5/2025: added a checkpoint so you don't have to keep replaying the intro and tutorial every time you die, and fixed a couple of EGREGIOUS graphical oversights. oops!!

extract this to a folder somewhere, it's not picky about where it runs from. if you've never used Mega Man Maker before, please run "run me first.bat". it will create the "Levels" folder in "[user]\AppData\Local\MegaMaker" and copy the demo level there. after that, just run the game, go through the first time setup, then select "PLAY" and "MY LEVELS". you should see "Heckman Demo" listed there, that's the thing you wanna play (probably??). if you HAVE played before, just drop "Heckman Demo.mmlv" in your existing "Levels" folder.
IF THE GAME ASKS YOU TO UPDATE, DO NOT!! it will overwrite the data.win file and all the custom assets will go poof. that's really bad.
at the title screen, go left to see information about the collectible items, or right to start the game proper.
